Our Founder’s Story

After 25 years in the profession, our founder Jon Rumsey still talks about accounting the way most people talk about their favourite hobby. Jon began his career in a traditional practice, learning the craft of turning complex numbers into clear decisions for real people. Along the way he spotted a pattern: small business owners didn’t just need compliance—they needed a partner who understood their journey and could grow with them.

That insight drove Jon to acquire a modest local firm early in his career. He modernised its systems, expanded the service line, built a tight-knit team, and—once it was thriving—successfully sold the business. With the itch to build again (and the freedom to do it his way), Jon launched JPR Accountancy & Tax Ltd. What started as a solo venture has already grown into a team of four, united by a simple mission: make finance feel effortless for business owners.
